The Liberal Science Programme aims to provide a broad-based education in a number of science subjects.  The Programme also aims to develop a critical maturity with an intellectually challenging choice of courses in non-science disciplines.  The Liberal Science degree is designed to serve the needs of students who wish to emphasize, in the context of a liberal education, an understanding of the status, concepts, and orientations of modern science.

Career Opportunities

The degree provides a suitable background for a number of professions.  Graduates may anticipate careers in science information processing, e.g., science librarians, public relations, technical writing, journalism, or they may continue their studies to pursue other professions such as teaching, law, medical professions, and others.  Professionals in the work force may also upgrade their skills and knowledge with the degree.  Because the programme is flexible, it can be established to fit divergent career plans.  It is well suited for people who wish to study part-time, and through distance education.
