About the Search Firm

On March 11, 2008, the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors approved the establishment of a Presidential Search Committee to search for and screen candidates for the position of President of Laurentian University and recommend a candidate to the Board of Governors.

The Board has hired the executive search firm, Kenniff & Racine to lead the process.  Kenniff & Racine is an executive search firm with offices in Montréal and Toronto.  Patrick Kenniff, the lead consultant who will be working with the Presidential Search Committee, is a former university president having served for ten years as Rector and Vice-Chancellor of Concordia University.  He has been active in executive search since 1997 and has carried out assignments in several fields, including: technology, manufacturing, universities, non-profit organizations. Of particular importance to Laurentian University is the firm’s ability to deliver services in both French and English.  Having recruited senior administrators for the Université de Moncton, as well as the rector of the Collège universitaire de Saint-Boniface, the firm is sensitive to the needs of academic institutions working in regions of Canada where French is the minority language.  The Presidential Search Committee looks forward to working with Dr Kenniff.  For more information you can view the firm’s website at www.kenniffracine.com.

Information regarding the presidential search process is available on the University’s website at www.laurentian.ca, under the About LU section and click on Board of Governors.
